One of the most common questions new investors ask is: which is the best broker in Pakistan? There's no single answer, but the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) publishes official rankings every month showing which brokers are the most active. These rankings are the most reliable public data available, so this guide uses them, with the exact period and source.

About these rankings

  • Who publishes them: the Pakistan Stock Exchange, on its official "Top 10 Brokers" page.
  • Period shown here: 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2026 (the latest month available when we checked on 2 November 2026).
  • How often they are updated: monthly. PSX announced its monthly broker ranking system in November 2023 to encourage brokers' activity, and has published rankings each month since.

What these rankings tell you, and what they don't

Think of these rankings like a list of the busiest restaurants in town. A busy restaurant is popular and established, but the list doesn't tell you its prices, whether it suits your taste, or how good its service is for you.

  • They show: how active and widely used a broker is.
  • They don't show: commission rates, app quality, research, customer service, or which broker suits a small beginner versus a large trader.

Firms that appear in several lists in September 2026 include AKD Securities, JS Global Capital, KTrade Securities, Arif Habib, Mohammad Munir Mohammad Ahmed Khanani Securities and BMA Capital Management.

How to choose the right broker for you

  1. Check the licence: make sure the firm is SECP-licensed and a PSX TREC holder.
  2. Compare costs: commission per trade, minimum commission, and any monthly or custody charges.
  3. Try the app: is it easy to use, stable, and does it show your portfolio clearly?
  4. Ask about support: research reports, beginner help, and how quickly they respond.
  5. Special needs: Shariah-compliant accounts, Roshan Digital Account support, or a branch in your city.

Then follow our step-by-step guide to open your account.
